Simple relationship doesn't seem to work. Help?

Thanks for any help with the below:

I have a ‘Calendar’ table. I need a Fiscal Year starting September 1. I’ve added a FY column to the physical calendar table as  (Month(Date) > 8, Year, Year-1). This is OK.

I want a slicer that reads FY18, FY19, etc. I have a separate physical table ‘FY table’ with two columns 1) [Select FY] 2) [FY]. Column 1 is the ‘FY18’ etc, Column 2 is 2018.

I have a relationship from ‘FY table’ to ‘Calendar’ between the ‘Calendar'[FY] and ‘FY table'[FY].

For whatever reason the slicer I make from ‘FY table'[Select FY] doesn’t work in my pivot when I have dates!

What am I doing wrong?
