    Hi All,

I’m using Excel 2016 64 bit. I updated the name of a measure, however, it doesn’t change either in the pivot table or on the powerpivot window. If I right¬†click on the PowerPivot window and click “Edit” it shows the right name:

I have tried to refresh, close and open again the Excel, etc.

    Any advice?

    Regards,

    Fernando

    Fernando,

Did you ever find out why the measure name would not update in the pivot?

Can you drag the old measure name off of the pivot’s Values drop zone and drop the re-named measure on?

    Hi Tom,

I haven’t been able to figure it out.

Is very weird because it shows the correct re-named measure in the Managed Measures window, inside PowerPivot and also in the measure window after clicking “Edit Measure” in the Pivot Field. Additionally, all of the other measures that are using that measure are working with¬†the new name…

    Fernando,

Try this (if you haven’t already done so): In one of the pivots where the measure name has not changed, in the Values drop zone, check Value Field Settings of the measure by right clicking and see if the source name has the “new” name.

Also, in the Manage Measures window, check if the old measure name and the new measure name can be selected and compare if the formulas are the same.

    Hi Tom,

It does shows the name the new name. I tried to change it, it does change in the Value Field area, but not in the area where we see all the measures and tables

On the other hand, the Manage Measures window only shows the new name, not the old one.

This is pretty annoying… It seems like a bug. I created a new one and then fixed all the formulas because I was not moving forward.

Thank you giving me some ideas Tom

    Cheers

I’m having the same problem. The only workaround I’ve found is to insert a new pivot table, which displays the revised measure names.

Make sure you have selected the appropriate field in your pivot table.

Go to : PivotTableTools > Field Settings and change the name there.

Presto, your pivot table column name is updated.
